Na poczatku lipca 2014 przybylam do Havelock w Karolinie Polnocnej, stanu polozonego w poludniowo- wschodniej czesci USA. Karolina Polnocna od polnocy graniczy z Wirginia, od poludnia z Georgia i Karolina Poludniowa, a od zachodu z Tennessee. Stan rozciaga sie od Atlantyku na wschodzie do Appalachow na zachodzie. Stolica Karoliny Polnocnej jest Raleigh. Stan ma klimat pozdwrotnikowy, na wybrzezu zwrotnikowy morski. Podsumowujac tutejszy klimat, lato jest zawsze bardzo gorace, duza wilgotnosc powietrza, w „zimie” natomiast srednia temeratura to 19 stopni celsjusza, czesciej pada deszcz. Jest tu zawsze bardzo zielono, nigdy nie spadaja liscie z drzew. Charakterystycznym drzewem w stanie jest sosna wysoka.
Havelock to miasto w Craven County. W miescie tym znajduje sie najwieksza na swiecie baza lotnicza piechoty morskiej- Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point i Marine Aircraft Wing. At the beginning of July 2014 I arrived to Havelock in North Carolina, a state located in south eastern part of the US. North Carolina from the north borders with Virginia, from the south with Georgia and South Carolina, and from the west with Tennessee. This state stretches from eastern Atlantic Ocean to western Appalachian Mountains. The capital of North Carolina is Raleigh. A state is located in subtropical climate, and on coast in tropical climate. Summarizing local climate, summer is always hot and there is a high humidity. The average temperature in winter time is 19 Celsius degrees, and its raining often. North Carolina is always very green, leafs never falls from trees. A specific tree for this state is pine tree.
Havelock is a town in Craven County, where located is the largest Marine Corps base in the world. It is called Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and Marine Aircraft Wing. Flying planes over houses it is a standard. At the beginning wen I was hearing a flying plane with this big bang, I thought that maybe it is the end of the world? or maybe war? but I got used to it. Now Mike and I sometimes sitting on the porch and he explains me stories about different planes, which flies over our house :):) Since here is a Marines base, this town is very safe. We do not lock the car at the store, sometimes we do not lock the house, because apparently there is no need for that. The presence of base has also minuses, for example prices of food, gas, furniture, cars are much higher than nearby towns as New Bern or Newport. I heard that Marines are stupid and they pay every price. Everything is going around Cherry Point. This is a part of the name of one car dealer, here is also a strip bar with same name. This strip bar is located next to the high school :D Last time I met a stripper from this place. She makes such a good money, of course mostly she gets paid from Marines. I am not going to try this job :D This is a next issue: http://cherrypointyardsales.com/, here you can buy different used stuff for the house, sometimes really cheap and in good quality. YARD SALE is very popular in the US, and all Americans are impressed of that. You can clean up your house and same time earn a few bucks. Havelock is a typical American town, which we associates with an American movies despite the fact that there is a Marines base. Beautiful cardboard houses around :D Beautiful green grass, mail boxes, the lack of fences and gates, which I love! and lot of trucks on streets, mostly CHEVROLET brand. Everybody is driving car here, even if there is 5 minutes of walk to the store. They do it, probably because gas is very cheap in here :D We do shopping in WALMART, it is a popular supermarket in whole United States, where 90% of products come from China. Last time we were in the bank and a friend, who is the manager of this bank was serving us and sitting at the desk with American flag in background (in the US flags are everywhere!). Michael told him that he looks very nice with this flag, almost like in military. The manager of this bank told us a story of buying this flag. He went to the store to buy an American flag, he looked and saw on the shelf an American flag "MADE IN CHINA". He thought that as a patriot he just can't buy an American flag "MADE IN CHINA". He went looking for another flag, until he found one:) My favorite store in the US is DOLLAR TREE. I have never seen a better store than that. I think it is even better than IKEA! You can buy there different things, useful for the house and everything costs just $1! I bought there sets of different glasses and plates. The result is awesome and everything cost me really not much. Now there is a fall collection and I am already completing it! I noticed, based on my observation that it is profitable to live in the US. A person makes money, spend it and still has an opportunity to save some of it. There is no problem with jobs, diplomas are appreciated. We live in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by tress, where the main street is very close. I can get on bike and ride to McDonald, Burger King, KFC or Subway:) All of fast foods are close :D There are also another, typical American restaurants with red checkered tablecloth, where you can eat ribs, and other clubs, where you can dance, play billiards or listen to country music:) We like a Mexican restaurant, where we always order a huge glass of margarita, which we never can finish and when we leave a restaurant we are kind of drunk :D I also like a Chinese buffet, where you pay $7 per person and you can eat as much as you can, with no limit. I eat there a lot of delicious shrimps. We go sometimes to Ziggy's cafe/restaurant, which serves only breakfasts. We usually eat there pancakes with bacon. I like this American atmosphere there:) Two PAWN SHOPS are in town, where we buy movies for $1. Every Sunday we go to Catholic church ANNUNCIATION CATHOLIC PARISH- http://annunciationparish.org/. Masses there are so beautiful. I think that religious songs in English sound much better than in Polish. There is no organ, there is a guitar instead and you want to sit there for that. At the beginning of the mass priest always welcomes everybody by saying "Good morning", and than he asks if today we have any guests from other parishes. If there is anyone like this, this person needs to stand up and introduce to everybody, say where he or she comes from. Priest also asks if somebody has a birthday today. If yes, then he says "Happy birthday" to this person. After this little intro everybody in benches has to shake their hands and say "Good morning" or "Nice to meet you". It was strange to me at the beginning, but than I got used to it. Last Sunday, a mass was leading by an Italian priest, and it seemed like no one understood him, even he was trying to speak English :D I noticed that he missed "I believe in God" prayer, probably because of stress. Italian priest realized during the mass that he does not have a main book, and he also did not have any acolyte to help him so he left the mass and people and he went looking for a book, but he came back :D It was pretty funny :D Priest always stands next to the door after a mass and he blesses leaving church parishioners:) People usually stand in line to priest to talk to him a little bit:) The place to be here is ATLANTIC BEACH! I love this beach, I love this place... always when I am in bad mood, it is a best medicine for me:):) As soon as I get there I get some good energy:) A beach is bog and calm. There is not many people. Water is warm, salty and blue:) There are sometimes big waves, sometimes water is like a soup, that you can sit there like in bath tub, what I do a lot while being there:)

Masses there are so beautiful. I think that religious songs in English sound much better than in Polish. There is no organ, there is a guitar instead and you want to sit there for that. At the beginning of the mass priest always welcomes everybody by saying "Good morning", and than he asks if today we have any guests from other parishes. If there is anyone like this, this person needs to stand up and introduce to everybody, say where he or she comes from. Priest also asks if somebody has a birthday today. If yes, then he says "Happy birthday" to this person. After this little intro everybody in benches has to shake their hands and say "Good morning" or "Nice to meet you". It was strange to me at the beginning, but than I got used to it. Last Sunday, a mass was leading by an Italian priest, and it seemed like no one understood him, even he was trying to speak English :D I noticed that he missed "I believe in God" prayer, probably because of stress. Italian priest realized during the mass that he does not have a main book, and he also did not have any acolyte to help him so he left the mass and people and he went looking for a book, but he came back :D It was pretty funny :D Priest always stands next to the door after a mass and he blesses leaving church parishioners:) People usually stand in line to priest to talk to him a little bit:) The place to be here is ATLANTIC BEACH! I love this beach, I love this place... always when I am in bad mood, it is a best medicine for me:):) As soon as I get there I get some good energy:) A beach is bog and calm. There is not many people. Water is warm, salty and blue:) There are sometimes big waves, sometimes water is like a soup, that you can sit there like in bath tub, what I do a lot while being there:)
