Parapetowka!/Housewarming party!

Witajcie!

Dzisiaj mala relacja z dlugo zapowiadanej parapetowki w naszym nowym domku, ktora miala miejsce 12 sierpnia w sobote...:) Bardzo zalezalo mi zeby zebrac wszystkich naszych znajomych i przyjaciol razem podczas pobytu mojej mamy i brata tutaj. Ciesze sie bardzo, ze udalo sie to zrobic:) Imprezy u mnie zawsze sa udane, ale przygotowanie ich to prawdziwe wyzwanie, poniewaz ja urzadzam imprezy po polsku, a nie po amerykansku:) Zamiast chipsow, pizzy i coca- coli stol zazwyczaj ugina sie pod obiadem z dwoch dan, salatkami, przekaskami i napojami:) Nasi amerykanscy znajomi najpierw byli tym wszystkim zszokowani, ale teraz juz sie przyzwyczaili i wiedza, ze trzeba przychodzic do nas z pustymi brzuchami:) Tym razem w przygotowanaich do parapetowki bardzo pomogla mi moja mama i nasza kolezanka Danusia z Sioux Falls za co jestem im niezmiernie wdzieczna:) Wspolnymi silami przygotowalysmy nastepujace menu: zupa jarzynowa, mieso w sosie z ziemniakami i kluskami slaskimi z czerwona kapsuta, a takze do wyboru salatka z pomidorow, ogorkow, papryki, salaty, oliwek i cebuli. Ponadto na stole pojawily sie pierogi ruskie z cebulka, salatka sledziowa z buraczkami, salatka z brokula i pomidorow, losos w galerecie, mloda kapustka oraz wedliny, sery, szarlotka i sernik. Calosc dopelnily wina biale i czerwone, a niektorzy popijali rowniez whiskey. Wszyscy mieli naprawde dobry czas! Doborowe towarzystwo, pyszne jedzenie i drinki:) Na imprezie mielismy rowniez sporo dzieci, ktore mialy swoj wlasny stolik, ale wiekszosc czasu spedzili na dworze grajac w pilke i bawiac sie na naszym malym placu zabaw:) Nasz dom zostal "ochrzczony", a teraz miejmy nadzieje, ze bedziemy w nim mieszkac i mieszkac az nam sie znudzi i nie mam tu na mysli ponownej przeprowadzki za rok...😃

Hi!

Today I will post a little report from long promised housewarming party at our new house. It took place on Saturday, August 12th...:) I really wanted to get together all our friends while mu mom and brother were here. I am so happy that it worked:) Parties at my house are always fun, but process of preparing them it is a challenge, because I organize parties in Polish style, not American:) Instead of chips, pizza and coca- cola the table bents under couple courses of dinner, salads, appetizers and drinks:) At the beginning our American friends were shocked when they saw all of these, but as time was going on they got used to the fact they they should come to our house with empty bellies:) This time I received a lot of help in preparations from my mom and our friend Dana from Sioux Falls, and I am so thankful to them:) We prepared with common forces this menu: vegetable soup. meat in sauce with potatoes and Polish dumplings served with red cabbage salad, and we also gave our guests choice as a salad made of tomatoes, cucumbers, pepper, lettuce, olives, and onion. Moreover we served "Russian Pierogi" with potatoes, onion and white cheese, herrings salad with beats, broccoli   and  tomatoes salad, salmon in jelly, "young cabbage", deli meats, cheeses, apple cake and cheese cake. Everything got completed by white and red wine, and some people were drinking whiskey:) Everybody had a really good time! Great company, awesome food and drinks:) We had a lot of children and the party and they had their own table, but they spent most of the time outside playing soccer and playing at our little playground:) Our house got "baptized" and now we hope that we will stay there for years until we will get bored... Hopefully we will not be moving in a year 😄

I laugh that we always have a lot of guests and food, but we never have enough elbow room at the table:)
