Ostatnio w Stanach obchodzilismy Memorial Day, czyli Dzien Pamieci... Swieto to obchodzone jest w ostatni poniedzialek maja i jest uhonorowaniem wszystkich poleglych, ktorzy sluzyli w amerykanskim wojsku. Jest to dzien wolny od pracy. W tym dniu flagi opuszczane sa do polowy masztu, ludzie odwiedzaja cmentarze i oddaja honory poleglym. Dzien ten kojarzony jest rowniez z rozpoczeciem sezonu letniego i wakacji, poniewaz w tym dniu ludzie wybieraja sie na pikniki, BBQ, imprezy sportowe i spedzaja czas z rodzina. Memorial Day pochodzi z czasow po Wojnie secesyjnej... Zalozeniem bylo uhonorowanie zolnierzy Unii i Konfederacji, ktorzy zgineli podczas wojny. W XX wieku Memorial Day stal sie swietem oddajacym holdy wszystkim tym, ktorzy sluzyli Ameryce i polegli. Memorial Day nie nalezy mylic z Veteran's Day, czyli dniem poswieconym wszystkim wojskowym weteranom, ktorzy sluzyli Stanom Zjednoczonym Ameryki.

Memorial Day in XX century became a holiday which honor all of the people who served America and died. Memorial Day is not same as a Veteran's Day. Veteran's Day is a holiday for all of the veterans who were serving US.
