A my znowu w podrozy... W zwiazku z praca mojego meza tym razem udalismy sie do Houston w Teksasie. W niedziele o 6 rano wyjechalismy z naszego domu w Bainbridge. Odleglosc z Bainbridge w Georgii do Houston w Teksasie to 700 mil, czyli jakies 1127 km. Przewidywany czas podrozy to 10 godzin. Towarzyszy nam nasz ukochany pies- Sirena, ktora dzien przed naszym wyjazdem, przez chwile mojej nieuwagi zaszla w ciaze z psem z sasiedztwa, na szczescie byl to czerwononosy pitbull w zwiazku z czym na poczatku sierpnia przewidujemy od 6 do 10 szczeniaczkow:) Poczatkowo mielismy zabrac ze soba koty i zostawic je pod opieka wujka Ralph'a "mniej wiecej" w polowie drogi, w Nowym Orleanie. Jednak nasi sasiedzi z Bainbridge zdecydowali sie nam pomoc i zaopiekowac sie naszymi kotami, akwarium i generalnie domem:) Okolo godziny 2 dojechalismy do Nowego Orleanu. Zrobilismy sobie przystanek u wujka Ralph'a. Wujek Ralph to wspanialy facet! Rozrywkowy, wyluzowany, umie zatanczyc kazdy taniec i sam o sobie mowi "Party, party, party" w koncu cale zycie mieszka w Nowym Orleanie! :D Zjedlismy tam obiad, odpoczelismy i dalej komu w droge, temu czas:) Milo bylo znowu zatrzymac sie w Nowym Orleanie... To bardzo sentymentalne miejsce dla mnie i dla Majka:) Tam wszystko sie zaczelo:) Mam nadzieje, ze w drodze powrotnej czas nam pozwoli zatrzymac sie tam na dluzej:) Okolo godziny 10 wieczorem dojechalismy do Houston. Po zameldowaniu sie w hotelu i rozpakowaniu samochodu jedyne o czym marzylismy to prysznic i sen:) Jak zwykle po dlugich podrozach samochodowych bylismy po prostu padnieci...:)

Nazwa miasta pochodzi od owczesnego prezydenta Teksasu, Sama Houston'a. Gospodarka Houston posiada ogromna baze w sektorze energetyki, transportu, produkcji oraz aeronautyki. W Houston znajduje sie NASA Johnson Space Center, miejsce, w ktorym znajduje sie Centrum Kontroli Misji Kosmicznych. W Houston w XX wieku powstalo TEXAS MEDICAL CENTER, czyli najwieksze na swiecie skupisko obiektow zajmujacych sie ochrona zdrowia i instytutow badawczych. Houston odgrywa rowniez bardzo wazna role w budowie sprzetu wydobywczego i wiertniczego, a takze w opiece zdrowotnej. W Houston istnieje duza spolecznosc miedzynarodowa. W oczy szczegolnie rzucaja sie Meksykanie. W supermarketach napisy sa w dwoch jezykach- angielskim i hiszpanskim. Houston lezy w strefie klimatu subtropikalnego. Miasto nie nalezy do Alei Tornad, jednak czasami zdarza sie, ze szczegolnie w okresie wiosennym przez miasto przechodzi tornado. Lata w Houston sa bardzo gorace, srednia temperatura przekracza 32 stopnie, przy tym wystepuje rowniez bardzo duza wilgotnosc powietrza. Zimy sa bardzo lagodne, srednia temperature to 17 stopni. Houston posiada trzecia najwyzsza panorame w Ameryce Polnocnej i jedna z 10 najwyzszych na swiecie. W Houston religia dominujaca jest katolicyzm. W Teksasie cena benzyny jest najnizsza w calych Stanach Zjednoczonych ze wzgledu na przemysl wydobywyczy.
We are on way again...We went to Houston, Texas in connection with my husband job. We left our house in Bainbridge on Sunday, at 6 o clock. Distance between Bainbridge in Georgia and Houston in Texas is 700 miles, which is about 1127 km. Estimated time of travel is 10 hours. Our lovely dog Sirena accompanies us in our journey. Sirena got pregnant with our neighbors dog the day before we left by the moment of my inattention. Fortunately it was a red nose pitbull, and we are expecting between 6 and 10 puppies at the beginning of August:) At the beginning we were planning to leave our cats with Uncle Ralph in New Orleans, in the middle of our way to Houston, but our neighbors from Bainbridge decided to help us and they took care of our cats, aquarium, and house:) We arrived to New Orleans about 2 pm. We stopped at Uncle Ralph house. Uncle Ralph is a really cool guy! He is entertainment, chilled out, he knows every dance, and he says about himself "Party, party, party", at the end he lives in New Orleans whole his life! :D We ate a dinner there, we got some rest and then we got on our way to Houston:) It was nice to stop in New Orleans again... It is very sentimental place for me and Mike:) Everything started there:) I hope, that on way back time will let us to stay there longer:) We arrived to Houston about 10 pm. We checked in, and unloaded truck, and then just two things, which we were dreaming about were shower and sleep:) As always after a long drive we were just exhausted...:)

Signs in supermarkets are in two languages, in English and Spanish. Houston is located in subtropical climate. City does not belong to Tornado Alley, but sometimes, especially in spring time tornado happens there. Summers in Houston are very hot, an average temperature exceeds 32 degrees, and there is also such a high humidity of the air. Winters are very mild, an average temperature is 17 degrees. Houston has the third highest skyline in America, and one of the 10 highest in the world. A dominant religion in Houston is Catholicism. The price of gas in Texas is the lowest in whole United States, because of mining industry.
