Krotkie sprawozdanie z ostatnich dni.../A short report from last days...
Swieta sie zblizaja, niedlugo znowu lepienie pierogow! Kartki swiateczne rozeslane juz po rodzinie:) Za oknem jest tak bialo, ze noc wyglada jakby byl to dzien... A u nas pod choinka juz pojawiaja sie prezenty...:)
Christmas is coming! I will be making pierogi soon! Christmas cards are already sent to familiy:) Behind the window there is so white that night looks like a day... Under our Christmas tree gifts starts to appear...:)
W tym poscie wspominalam Wam o ewaluacji dyplomu z polskiej uczelni w Stanach Zjednoczonych oraz o tym, ze najprawdopodobniej ukoncze tutaj studia z tytulem amerykanskiego licencjata na kierunku JUSTICE ADMINISTARTION lub SOCIAL WORK. W zeszly piatek 9 grudnia wzielam udzial w dniu organizacyjnym i rejestracji na poszczegolne przedmioty na Uniwersytecie Poludniowo Zachodniej Minnesoty w Marshall, ktorego juz jestem studentka. Zajecia zaczynam od 9 stycznia 2017 roku. Wspominalam juz w poscie o ewaluacji, ze mam 90 kredytow z Polski i potrzebuje minimum 30, zeby zdobyc ekwiwalent licencjata w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Okazalo sie, ze jesli szczesliwie uda mi sie ukonczyc tutaj trzy semestry, czyli w moim przypadku wymagany okres do tego, zeby uzyskac ekwiwalent mojego polskiego dyplomu w USA to bede licencjatem z psychologii. Wybralam sobie ten kierunek z bardzo prostej przyczyny, a mianowicie ten kierunek wymaga tylko 39 kredytow z przedmiotow kierunkowych, zeby ukonczyc studia, natomiast np. JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION, czyli Wymiar Sprawiedliwosci, kierunek powiazany z polskim kierunkiem, ktory ukonczylam wymaga az 49 kredytow, co wiazalaoby sie sie z tym, ze musialabym zamiast 1,5 roku na studiach, spedzic okolo 2 lub 2,5. Dziekuje bardzo, juz sie na to nie pisze. Kolejna rzecza dla ktorej zdecydowalam sie na kierunek psychologia jest fakt, ze gdybym jako 19 latka miala moja dzisiejsza swiadomosc i uksztaltowana osobowosc tak jak dzis, na pewno poszlabym na psychologie, wtedy nie bralam tego pod uwage, poniewaz wydawalo mi sie, ze psychologow to jest jak grzybow po deszczu, a poza tym nie mialam takich zainteresowan, na przestrzeni lat i doswiadczen to sie jednak bardzo zmienilo. Mowie, ze ja jestem jak ten kot, "zawsze spadam na cztery lapy" i w efekcie moze jakies przeznaczenie prowadzi mnie do tego, co naprawde dla mnie dobre. Teoretycznie brakuje mi tylko 30 kredytow do ukonczenia studiow, ale Uniwersytet Poludniowo Zachodniej Minnesoty ma swoj indywidualny program edukacyjny wedlug ktorego musze zdobyc minimum 40 kredytow do tego, zeby dostac dyplom. Jestem podekscytowana i zaciekawiona powrotem na studia, szczegolnie, ze beda to studia w Stanach Zjednoczonych, w jezyku angielskim, w kompletnie innym systemie edukacyjnym. Masa nowych doswiadczen, z ktorych na pewno powstana posty na tym blogu. Juz na dzien dzisiejszy moge napisac, ze to co zauwazylam na Uniwersytecie Poludniowo Zachodniej Minnesoty i co jest zupelnie inne niz w przypadku polskich uczelni to fakt, ze pracownicy uczelni sa niezwykle mili, sympatyczni, otwarci, usmiechnieci i pomocni. Sama Pani Prezydent Uniwersytetu na spotkaniu organizacyjnym prosila o to, zeby zaczepiac ja na korytarzach na krotkie pogawedki, poniewaz ona chce znac swoich studentach. W poszczegolnych miejscach, typu "dziekanat", sprawy finansowe itp. po prostu chce sie tam isc i zalatwiac cokolwiek, poniewaz przebiega to szybko, sprawnie i przyjemnie, czyli zupelnie odwrotnie niz w Polsce, gdzie pracownicy uczelni zwykle uwielbiaja robic studentom problemy. Prezydent wyzej wspomnianej uczelni oraz pracownicy tej instytucji na spotkaniu organziacyunym wyraznie zaznaczyli, ze my jestesmy tu dla Was i dla Waszego sukcesu. Uniwersytet na ktorym bede kontynowala swoja edukacje to instytucja stanowa, cieszaca sie bardzo dobra renoma. Statystyki mowia, ze 99% studentow po ukonczeniu studiow w przeciagu 6 miesiecy znajduje zatrudnienie, z czego 93% znajduje prace strikte zgodna ze swoim wyksztalceniem i kierunkiem. To bardzo dobre wyniki. Na uniwersytecie tym ucza sie studenci z 23 roznych krajow na swiecie. Kampus Uniwersytetu jest ogromny i wspaniale wyposazony w przerozne boiska, miejsca sportu i rozrywki. Jest tam mnostwo przeroznych kolek zainteresowan jak np. klub Demokratow i Republikanow. W tym roku semestr studiow na tym uniwersytecie bedzie mnie kosztowal ponad $4000, czyli okolo 16 000 zl, zgodnie z aktualnym kursem walut. Za 1,5 roku na tej uczelni bede musiala zaplacic okolo $12 000,czyli ponad 40 000 polskich zlotych. W zwiazku z powrotem na studia bede miala na pewno mniej czasu, miedzy innymi na regularne aktualizowanie mojego bloga, poniewaz niestety albo i stety jestem osoba, ktora w szkole sie uczy, do tego mam jeszcze do ogarneicia dosc spory dom, meza, psa, dwa koty, aktywnosc fizyczna i kilka innych przedsiewziec po drodze. Bede sie starala i w miare moich mozliwosci czasowych sprobuje aktualizowac Was w skrocie co sie u mnie dzieje, albo co waznego w USA sie dzieje:)
In this post I mentioned about evaluation of Polish diploma in the US and that I will probably graduate with bachelor degree of JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION or SOCIAL WORK. Last Friday December 9th I took part in registration day at Southwest Minnesota State University where I am already a student. I start my classes on Janury 9th 2017. I mentioned in post about evaluation that I have earned 90 credits from Poland and I need 30 to graduate and get an equivalent of bachelor degree in the US. It tunred out that if I will luckily graduate from three semestres that I have to take, because it is a time frame for me to get a bachelor degree equivalent in the US I will be a psychologist. I chose this major for a very simple reason which is the fact that psychology requires only 39 credits from major classes to graduate, but for example JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION requires 49 credits which means that I would have to stay at school up to 2 or 2.5 years. Thank you so much, but not this time. The next thing that I decided to chose a psychology is the fact that if I was 19 years old again and I had my today's awarness and personality I would go study psychology. I did not considre going for psychology by then because I was thinking that there is so many psychologist and I also did not have interest like this which changed over the years and experiences that I went through. I say that I am like this cat always "falls on four paws"and in result some kind of fate is leading me to the place where I should be. I need only 30 credits, in theory, to graduate, but actually a Southewest Monnesota State Univeristy has own individual educational program which requires me to gain 40 credits to get a diploma. I am excited and curious for my come back to school especially that it is going to be something completly new for me. I am going to study in the US, in English language, in completly different educational system. A lot of new experience which will turn into new posts on this blog. Today I can easily write that the difference that I already noticed between Polish and American college is the fact that here in the US college staff is extremly nice, open, smily, and helpful. The President of SMSU asked students to say her hello and stop to exchange couple words when they see her somewhere on the hallway. She said that she wants to know her students and be involved in SMSU life as much as possible. People in different school services are so nice, yo uwould just want to go there just to hang out, because you can take care of what you need fast, easy and nicly which is completly different than in Poland when college staff love to give people hard time. The President and staff mentioned above on registration day made it clear that they are there for us and for our success. University where I will be continuing my education it is a state institution with a very good reputation. Statistics say that 99% of people who graduate from this college find jobs in 6 months since graduation and 93% of them find jobs in their field. Those are really good numbers. SMSU has students from 23 different countries around the world. University campus is huge and very well equipped in different playing fields, sport and entertainment places. There is bunch of different interest clubs such as Democrat or Republican club. This year a semester of study at this particular univeristy is going to cost me more than $4000 which is around 16 000 PLN according to the current exchange rate. I will have to pay more than $12 000 which is more than 40 000 PLN for 1,5 at this college. I will for sure have less time in refer to come back to school. Unfortunately or fortunately I am the person who study and learn despite that I also have a pretty big house to take care of, husband, a dog and two cats. However I will be trying to update you what is going on with me or what is going on in the US:)
Z ciekawostek dotyczacych sluzby zdrowia w USA napisze, ze ostatnio dostalam ze szpitala wycene usuniecia cysty wypelnionej woda o wielkosci ziarnka grochu, ktora pojawila sie na moim ciele. Zgodnie z naszym planem ubezpieczeniowym musialabym zaplacic za taki zabiego okolo $5000, czyli okolo 20 000 zl. Wybuchlam smiechem jak to uslyszalam i jednoczesnie zrobilo mi sie zal Amerykanow, ze nie znaja lepiej i doszlam do wniosku, ze taniej wynisolby mnie lot do Polski i przeprowadzenie tam tego zabiegu prywatnie i chyba tak zrobie, ale bedac tam przy okazji, zwlaszcza, ze cysta, ktora mam to zadne zagrozenie zycia...
Interesting thing about American healthcare in the US is that recently I received from hospital an estimated cost of removal of the cyst size of peas filled with water which appeared on my body. According to our insurance plan I would have to pay $5000 which is about 20 000 PLN. I laughed when I heard that and same time I felt sorry for Americans who does not know any better. I made a conclusion that it would be cheaper for me to buy a ticket to Poland and do intervention privately there and this is what I am going to do, but on the ocassion, I am not going to plan a trip there just for removal of cyst, because it is not a life threat issue...
