Mialam ten post opublikowac juz tydzien temu, ale po napisaniu postu komputer zaczal mi szwankowac i oddalam go do naprawy, dlatego dopiero dzis publikuje ten post...
Czas w moim zyciu to rzecz na wage zlota teraz! Lubie, kiedy wszystko co robie w moim zyciu zawsze osiaga 100% swoich mozliwosci... Ciezko jest, kiedy jest sie perfekcjonista, bo natlok obowiazkow i czas wykonania ich nie zawse ida w parze... Jestem mega zajeta domem, mezem, zwierzetami, nauka i jeszcze innymi rzeczami, ze brakuje mi czasu, zeby usiasc tutaj na blogu i napisac jakis dluzszy i konkretny post teraz! W zeszly poniedzialek mielismy dzien wolny od pracy i szkoly, poniewaz obchodozne bylo swieto Martina Luthera Kinga Juniora, ktory walczyl o prawa dla Afro Amerykanow.
Dzisiaj podziele sie z Wami moimi pierwszymi wrazeniami po dwoch tygodniach spedzonym na Uniwerystecie Poludniowo Zchodniej Minnesoty. Jest to krotki okres, ale ogromne roznice miedzy polska, a amerykanska edukacja sa juz widoczne.
Jestem bardzo mile zaskoczona! Narzekanie i wysmiewanie Amerykanow, ze to glupi narod i ich system edukacyjny jest mierny w stosunku do europejskiego wedlug mnie jest prymitywne i bezzasadne.
Moje nowe doswiadczenia to:
* Profesorzy sa przesymaptyczni, pomocni, mobilni, latwo sie z nimi skontaktowac, wrecz prosza, zeby studenci pisali do nich maile, przychodzili do ich biur, pytali, rozmawiali, totalne przeciwienstwo Polski i moich doswiadczen tam, jak ktos nie dostarczy czegos na czas, to swiat sie nie zawala, moze mial wazniejsze rzeczy do zrobienia!
* Wiedza, przekazywana jest studentom prostym i zrozumialym jezykiem, tylko najwazniejsze rzeczy, ktore rzeczywiscie moga przydac sie w zyciu, brak dlugich i zlozonych definicji, wszystko prosto i na temat, nastawienie na praktycznosc, uzytecznosc, brak detali, ktorych i tak nikt nigdy nie bedzie pamietal
* systematycznosc, nie ma tak jak w Polsce, ze caly semestr mozna nic nie robic, a potem stres i natlok materialu na sesje, co tydzien z kazdego przedmiotu sa testy z danego tematu, ktory byl przerabiany na zajeciach, testy wypelnia sie przez internet, w domu, profesorzy nie maja ton papierow i sprawdzania, tylko wszystko robi za nich program online, niesmaowice madre i wygodne!
* Szkola to nie wiezienie tutaj! Luz, przyjemna atmosfera to mozna zauwazyc na amerykanskim uniwersytecie! Mnostwo klubow zainteresowan, mnostwo eventow sportowych, kazdy znajdzie cos dla siebie...
* Praktyka studencka i wszelkie aktywnosci jak np. praca letnia rzeczywiscie maja tutaj znaczenie, ktore przyszli pracodawcy bardzo biora pod uwage, nie tak jak w Polsce, ze najlepiej, zebys mial 25 lat i 30 lat profesjonalnego doswiadczenia.
* Ja uczszczam na specjalne zajecia, ktore profiluja studentow i okreslaja ich droge kariery po ukonczeniu studiow, uzyskujemy wszelkie porady, co mamy robic, do czego najbardziej sie nadajemy, zeby zaraz po studiach uzyskac prace, ktora chcemy, albo dalej sie ksztalcic... Przypominam, ze statystyki podaja, ze 95% studentow Uniwersytetu Poludniowo Zachodniej Minnesoty znajduje zatrudnienie maksymalnie do 6 miesiecy po uzyskaniu dyplomu, z czego 93% uzyskuje prace z swoim kierunku!
* Amerykanski system edukacji nie produkuje bezuzytecznych magistrow, ktorzy nic nie potrafia, jest ich mnostwo, jak juz znajda prace to zarabiaja marne grosze tak jak dzieje sie w Polsce! To dopiero dwa tygodnie moich obserwacji, ciekawe co bedzie po pol roku... Polsko ucz sie od lepszych i nie wysmiewaj tego co dobre, sugerujac sie jakimis glupimi stereotypami!
W zeszla niedziele wybralismy sie na spacer do Camden State Park w Minnesocie... Bylo bardzo przyjemnie, a zdjecia ponizej!

I should post this post a weeks ago, but right after I wrote it my computer started going crazy and I gave it to the service for cleaning, that's I am just publishing it today...
I should post this post a weeks ago, but right after I wrote it my computer started going crazy and I gave it to the service for cleaning, that's I am just publishing it today...
A time in my life now it is something which is worth the same as a gold! I like to do everything in my life 100%... It is hard when you are a perfectionist, because a lot of duties that you have is not always equal to the time that you have for doing that... I am so busy with my house, husband, animals, studying and also other things that I do not have time to sit down and write some good post here on the blog! Last Monday we had a day off, because there was celebrated Martin Luther King Junior holiday. He was the one who was fighting for African American rights.
Today I will share with you my first impression after to weeks in Southwest Minnesota State University. It is a short period of time, but I can already see differences between Polish and American educational system.
I am very nicely surprised! Complaining and making fun of Americans that it is a stupid nation and their educational system is weak compering to European educational system is for me primitive and unfounded!
My new experiences:
* Professors are extremaly nice, helpful, mobile, it is easy to get in touch with them, they ask students to ask them questions, send e-mails, visiting their offices. It is totally different than my Polish experience! If you do not bring an assingment on time there is no problem made out of that, maybe you had something more important to do.
* The knowledge is being transfered to students in easy and understanable language, only the most important things that can be actually helpful and useful in practical life, no long and complex definition, emphasing usefulness and practicality. Lack of details that eventually everybody is going to forget anyways.
* Regularity. There is no such a thing in Poland that you do not have to do anything whole semester but when the session comes there is a stress and huge amount of material to learn. Here we get tests every week that include topic that we were learning about in previous week. We do tests at the house, online. Professors do not have bunch of papers to check out. Software does it for them. Very smart and comfortable!
* School is not a prison! You can notice at American university that everybody is chilled out, very nice atmosphere around! Lot of interest clubs, sport events, everybody will find something for themselves...
* Student internship and different activities such as: summer work matter here and future employers they really look at that seriously, not like in Poland that you need to be 25 years old and you should carry 30 years of experience.
* I attend to a special class that profile students career path after graduation. We receive a lot of advise, what we have to do, what we are good at so right after graduation we can get a job as soon as possible or continue our career in graduate school... I just want to remind you that statistic show that 95% of SMSU students get job in 6 months after graduation and 93% get a job in their field!
* American educational system does not produce useless masters, who does not know anything and even if they get a job they make a little money as it is in Poland! It is just two weeks of my observation, I wonder what will be after half a year... Poland you need to learn from better and do not make fun of something that is good, being suggested by stereotypes!
Last Sunday we went to Camden State Park in Minnesota... It was very nice and you can see pictures below!
