W tym dniu pamieta sie rowniez o zmarlych weteranach, chociaz im poswiecone jest oddzielne swieto, Memorial Day, o ktorym pisalam tutaj. Dzien Weteranow obchodzony jest 11 listopada, jego celem jest uhonorowanie weteranow sluzacych w silach zbrojnych Stanow Zjednoczonych. 11 listopada to rocznica zawarcia rozejmu konczacego I wojne swiatowa, to rowniez Swieto Niepodleglosci i Dzien Pamieci w innych krajach. Prezydent Stanow Zjednoczonych Woodrow Wilson ustanowil swieto 11 listopada w 1919 roku pod nazwa Armistice Day, czyli Dzien Rozejmu, aby uczcic rocznice zakonczenia I wojny swiatowej. Prezydent Dwight Eisenhower ustanowil ten dzien swietem narodowym pod nazwa Dzien Weteranow 1 czerwca 1954 roku. W Dzien Weteranow zamkniete sa urzedy federalne, urzedy stanowe, szkoly i banki. Inne przedsiebiorstwa sa czynne normalnie. Jezeli 11 listopada przypada w sobote to obchody Dnia Weteranow przesuwane sa na poprzedzajacy piatek. Jesli 11 listopada przypada w niedziele to Dzien Weteranow swietowany jest w nastepujacy po niedzieli poniedzialek.
Sily Zbrojne Stanow Zjednoczonych to jedna z moich ogromnych fascynacji. Wszystkie filmy, opowiesci, ludzie, ktorych poznalam to rozkosz dla moich wszelkich zmyslow. Uwazam, ze sa niesamowici i chyba najlepsi na swiecie! Nie jestem Amerykanka, ale teraz tu mieszkam, dlatego uwazam, ze w tym dniu do wszystkim weteranow nalezy skierowac jedno bardzo wazne slowo- DZIEKUJE za ogromne poswiecenie i sluzbe Ameryce!

Special thanks for serving the country on Veterans Day are sent to the living veterans. Deceased veterans are also remembered on this day, but they are honored on their own day which is Memorial Day, which I mentioned here. Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11th and it is dedicated to all who served US Armed Forces. November 11th is an anniversary of the end of World War I. It is also an Independent Day and Remembrance Day in other countries. Woodrow Wilson the President of the United States established Armistice Day on November 11 in 1919 to honor the end of World War I. President Dwight Eisenhower established this day a Veterans Day on June 1 in 1954. Federal offices, State offices, schools, and banks are closed on Veterans Day. Other enterprises are open normally. If November 11th falls on Saturday, it is officially celebrated on preceding Friday. If November 11th falls on Sunday, it is celebrated on the following Monday.

The United States Armed Forces it is one of my big fascinations. All movies and stories of people who I met they are a delight for my senses. I think they are amazing and probably best in the world! I am not an American, but I live here now that's why I think that today all veterans deserve a very important word- THANK YOU for serving America!
